Nuclear power plant “Belene” in safety top 3 of Europe

The European commission ranked the project for nuclear power plant “Belene” in the top three nuclear facilities of the third generation, announced the newspaper Monitor.

The up-to-date nuclear program of Europe shows that the second nuclear power plant in Bulgaria (which is still construction) is among the prime examples of a third generation nuclear power plant, along with those in Olkiluoto in Finland and Flamanville in Frnace. The European Commission also advises all other project to look up to the example set by the top three.

The reasons for this power plant’s high esteem are the better safety systems, the less fuel energy consumption, the prolonged life of the reactors, and the less radioactive waste.
