Momchil Karailiev wins a gold medal in Moscow

Momchil Karailiev won the triple jump competition at the tournament “Moscow open” in the Russian capital yesterday.

The 27 year old Bulgarian jumped 17,10 meters on his second attempt, which is equal to an “A” norm for the championship in Berlin. His jump could not be matched for the remainder of the competition. In his first jump, he achieved 16,98 meters (0,3 m/sec). Igor Spasovhodskii (Russia) remained second with 16,85 meters.

In the pole vault competition, Spas Buhalov remained fifth in the final rankings with a personal record for the season – 5,60 meters. The result of Buhalov was equal to a “B” norm for the championship. Spas covered the “A” norm of 5,70 meters during the winter. The winner in Moscow is Maxim Mazurik (Ukraine) with 5,70 meters.
