Deyan Ivanov and Gergana Branzova were chosen for в„–1 basketball players for 2008 in their respective genders, announced the official website of the federation.

Journalists, club representatives and trainers participated in the traditional inquiry.

The selectionist of the national team Pini Gershon received the award for trainer в„–1 of the year. Willy Dean from “Lukoil Akademik” was pronounced best foreign player for 2008.

Six players were nominated by the people inquired in the category Basketball player в„–1 of the year. The forward of the Croatian “Zadar” Deyan Ivanov received 42,5% of the votes. Vasil Evtimov, Ibrahim Jaber, Stefan Georgiev, Todor Stoikov and last year’s winner in the inquiry Filip Videnov were also voted for.

Due to the schedule of his team, however, Deyan Ivanov will not be able to return to Bulgaria to receive his award during the ceremony for the 90th anniversary of the Bulgarian basketball on February 17th.
