Construction at Kaliakra – forbidden

The minister of ecology and waters Dzhevdet Chakarov pushed an order to forbid any construction in Kaliakra, announced from the press center of the ministry.

The order ensures the safety and preventive measures to deter damaging or destruction of the important natural habitats and species, protected in the zone belonging to Natura 2000 “Complex Kaliakra”.

This complex spreads over the municipality of Shabla, the cities Balchik and Kavarna, the villages Tiulenovo, Bozhurets, Bulgarevo, Kamen briag, St. Nikola and Topola. The overall protected area is 441 282.643 decares, of which 39.561 sq. km. are in the sea.
