Bulgaria won’t be put on trial for the emergency phone number 112

The European Commission won’t put Bulgaria on trial because of the emergency phone number 112. The decision will be announced in the beginning of the next week.

On December 18th the last, three-month long deadline that Brussels gave to the Bulgarian government to cover all their requirements on the common European emergency number, runs out.

If the issues with the phone were not worked on, a suit would have followed automatically at the Court of European communities in Luxembourg.

The check up that ended recently shows, that the emergency phone number covers the whole of Bulgaria, can be dialled from any phone, and the system that localizes the calls works according to requirements.
