Bulgaria – champion of approved EU directives
Bulgaria is a champion of approved EU directives. Their number is 1688 or 99.43% of all directives.
This was made clear during the regular meeting of the Council for European matters, which takes place in the building of the Council of ministers.
The meeting was lead by the vice-minister of foreign relations Krasimir Kostov.
The southern neighbor of Bulgaria – Greece – has approved the least number of EU directives since 1981.
Bulgaria is followed by Latvia, Germany, Denmark, Romania and Slovakia, while older members of the EU like Portugal, Italy and Luxembourg line up the bottom of the chart.
The crisis in the milk production business and the measures that need to be taken were also discussed during the meeting.
All countries in the European Union have problems with the declining prices of raw milk over the last year and the worsening economic stability of milk producers, stated Kostov.
According to him, Bulgaria approves of the proposed measures by the European Commission to stabilize the milk market through the purchase and conservation of powdered milk.
We consider the gradual increase of the national dairy quota of the EU countries to be another positive step, stated the vice-minister of foreign relations.
