Bulgaria Basketball Team Gets Closer to European Championship Dream
The Bulgarian national basketball team won against Finland Wednesday night in a decisive game for the European championship qualifications.
The game took place in the Sofia’s “Universiada” hall and ended with a score of 102:90 (29:22, 17:25, 26:14, 30:29).
The victory significantly increases the team’s chances to qualify for the European basketball championship and gives them a total of four victories and two losses.
In the first Bulgaria – Finland game, the Bulgarian team won by a 22 points lead.
The national basketball players demonstrated team sprit and great sportsmanship before an exited audience, who had filled almost every seat in the hall.
The playmaker Ibrahim Dzhaber with 29 points, Deyan Ivanov with 18 and Philip Videnov with 12, despite the fact that he was injured and did not play the major part of the second half, were among the Bulgarian team Wednesday night stars.
The team rests on Saturday and will play their next game on Wednesday, September 17 against Italy as a guest.
