29 million leva for the new plenary hall, the National assembly to become a museum

The current building on the square “National assembly” will be turned into a museum, reveals the newspaper “Monitor”. The construction of the new plenary hall within the empty core of the ex-Communist party house in Sofia will cost 29 million leva.

The chairmen of the National assembly have planned the needed financial course for the various stages of execution of the plan until 2011, answered the administrative secretary of the institution Miron Gavrailov to the question of “Monitor” on the recent preliminary announcement for the construction.

The futuristic glass dome in the yard of the building on the square “Knyaz Alexander I” will take 28 months to construct, explained parliamentary representatives. In other words, if the execution of the project starts in the current mandate, whatever the intentions of the 40th national assembly, the new member of parliament complex will have to be finished by the end of 2011.
