26 villages in South Western Bulgaria without electricity

In the late afternoon, the electrification company CEZ announced that teams of technicians fixed most of the malfunctions in the electric network in South Wesern Bulgaria.

Heavy snowfall during last night caused the malfunction in the electric network of settlements in that region of Bulgaria, and emergency teams had serious difficulties getting through the 65 centimetre snow cover. As a result, 70 villages in the region of Kiustendil remained without electricity for a while.

Electricity is back and functional in the municipalities Petrich and Simitli. 26 villages in the municipalities Treklyano and Nevestino are still without power. CEZ expects to restore the network’s functionality by the end of the day.
