10 000 foreigners arrive in Nesebar for the Easter holidays

Nearly 10 000 foreigners will arrive in Nesebar for the Easter holidays to greet the important Christian holiday in the romantic atmosphere of the ancient city. Thus Easter will practically give the start of the new tourist season in Nesebar and the region. The locals expect a huge flow of Romanian tourists in the hotels.

“It’s like they make a pilgrimage to the ancient Bulgarian city. It’s as old as Jerusalem and is one of the oldest Christian bishoprics in the whole world. There are fourty chruches on the peninsula; the place is sacred and it’s no wonder that it attracts so many Christians as one of their spiritual destiantions”, reveal local hotel owners.

The official opening of the new season will be on May 11th. The event will be unique, because it will mark the second blessing and inauguration of one of the eldest churches – “St. Stefan”.
