The history museum of Popovo arranged an exposition of the tools of some of the most notorious criminal minds of Bulgarian history. They are mostly robbers and forgers. The displayed tools of the trade served in some of the greatest robberies in Bulgarian history.

The Popovo local Stefan Stanev takes an “honorable” spot in the exhibition. He is best known by his nickname “the German” and is pronounced as the best robber in Bulgaria for the period of 1965 – 1990. Stanev has been in court four times for robberies. “The German” spent 25 years behind the bars.

The tools of one of the best forgers in the world – Todor Krivnaliev – are also very curious.
