An exposition of 70 photographs was opened at the square “St. Nedelia” on September 10th 2009. The mayor of the municipality of Sofia Minko Gerdjikov personally attended the opening.

The motto of the exposition is “Rediscover Sofia – 130 years capital of Bulgaria”. The initiative marks the 130th anniversary of the proclamation of Sofia as the capital of Bulgaria.

The project was realized with the assistance of the Museum of Sofia, which provided photographs from their own archives. Photos will be placed at 20 key locations in Sofia, showing the same places a century ago.
