The execution of Super Perelik continues with a changed structure plan
The municipality of Smolyan will not give up on the construction of Super Perelik, announced the main investor of the project Kiril Asenov.
On April 23rd, Bulgarian media announced that the European commission sent an official letter that concluded that the necessary ecological evaluation of the project had not been done.
Asenov said that the overal structure plan needs to be changed – not the entire project stopped.
The plan from 2001 has an ecological evaluation for the construction of six ski tracks and six ski lifts. Changes have been made in 2007, and they got ahead of the ecological evaluation.
The structure plan from 2007 envisioned the urbanization of 130 square kilometres, including the construction of hotels with a capacity of 20 000 beds and 200 km. of ski tracks.
