Sofia Film Fest gave it’s awards

The main program of the 13th edition of the international film festival Sofia Film Fest ends today, March 15th, with a gala showing of the Wim Wenders movie “Palermo Shooting” and the now traditional performance of the Turkish band “Baba Zula” onstage in the National palace of culture before that.

The award ceremony of the festival took place last night in Hall 1 of the National palace of culture. The director of the festival Stefan Kitanov once again hosted the ceremony for each award. In the beginning, he said that a total of 262 (100 full length, 50 documentary and 112 short) movies from all over the world were presented at the festival. The international guests of the event were 228, including many directors, producers, actors, festival directors, media representatives and movie critics.

All these good news, as Kitanov called them, are enough to say that the festival is becoming the most important cinema event of the Balkans, as the popular “Variety” magazine recently stated.
