Schools in Dobrich gather food for elderly living in poverty

The local council of the Bulgarian Red Cross in Dobrich will start the traditional campaign to aid the elderly living in poverty with charity foods, announced dobrichmedia.com.

The campaign starts November 17th. All 26 schools in Dobrich are involved. The appeal to the participants is to donate packaged goods (flour, sugar, beans, lentils, cooking oil, rice, canned foods, etc.). The gathered food will add to the food bank of the Bulgarian Red Cross, opened under the project “Let’s help the elderly together”.

This is the sixth such campaign. A campaign usually gathers about 1,5-2 tons of food. The distribution of the third flour supply from the EU interventional supplies also begins November 17th

The poor citizens of the Dobrich municipality have rights to the supply. The lists of the beneficiaries are prepared by the “Social aid” agency. Each person in need has rights to 4 kilos of flour, informs the charity organization.
