Bulgaria begins Euro ’09 with a medal

Bulgaria begins it’s participation in the European sumo championship in Switzerland with a golden medal. Martin Borisov is the new champion in the category +95 kg. in the boys up to 16 years category.

To reach the finals, Borisov defeated Andrey Mosevic (Ukraine) and Karen Karatyan (Russia). At the finals, the Bulgarian defeated the far heavier Danie Milivoievic (Hungary).

All participants from Bulgaria were successful during the second day of the Euro 2009 championship. The fights for girls and boys up to 18 years for Elena Grigorova, Gabriela Vasileva, Marine Nikogasyan, Nadya Jeinova, Kostadin Simeonov, Valentin Kolev, Miroslav Gerdjikov and Martin Borisov took place before noon.

After noon, the sumo wrestlers up to 21 years Elena Grigorova, Anna Metodieva, Maria Georgieva, Gabriela Vasileva, Marine Nikogasyan, Nadya Jeinova, Jivko Kungalov, Georgi Nadev, Dragomir Genov, Mihail Iliev, Dimitar Dunchovski, Ivan Kachakov and Dimitar Dimitrov will take their turn.
