A winter’s retrospective on the summer season for the seaside resorts

This year’s summer tourism season was facing the serious troubles of the international economical crisis during October. It affected the Bulgarian tourism companies, presented by the Bulgarian stock market.

According to the research of Investor.bg, based on the consolidated reports for the first nine months of the year, the summer of 2008 brings an increase of income for the most active summer resorts for the July-September period, but at the same time, it reflects the relative shirnking of the market.

The research includes Albena AD, Golden sands AD, St. Konstantin and Elena holding AD and Grand hotel Varna AD. The data from Slanchev briag AD was not included because of the privatisation of the main part of the holding’s shares, and because it practically does not give tourist services. The results of winter resorts like Pamporovo and Sofia hotel Balkan were also not included, because the research stressed on the summer tourist season.

The four companies that were researched on show an average growth of income only during the third quarter of the year – 6, 81% of the yearly basis.
