There will be no freezing of the minimum wages

During the economic crisis, the Ministry of labor and social politics has to hold it’s positions regarding the most vulnerable groups of the population.

This was stated by Totiu Mladenov, minister of labor and social politics, in this morning’s interview for the bTV.

“What we agreed on with our social partners is to negotiate the issues of income, pensions and social insurance limits during the government meeting that will work on the budget for 2010,” added he.

“In any case, the minimum wage has to surpass the poverty borderline. Because of that, I think we’ll come up with the best possible solution and we will not freeze the minimum wage during this government’s 4 year mandate.

At the moment, we’re decently supplied by the budget, and we’ll increase both the minimum wage and the minimum pension,” added the social minister.
