The price for a loaf of bread will drop from 1 lev per kg. This was announced by Boris Inchev, chairman of the Chamber of industrial bakers in Bulgaria, at the press conference after the meeting of the Consultative council for grain issues.

According to Ilchev, the price of a bread can drop by 5-6 stotinki up to 10 stotinki, and expects that the new price will stabilize in long term plan. Inchev also predicts a heavy competition in the business.

The price of the “cozonacs” (sweet breads) was also discussed at the press conference – it will be between 4,5 and 6 leva per kg., and the price will not increase around Easter.
