Italians want to produce cement in Pernik. On of the leading Italian companies for production of special cements expressed strong interest in the former cement factory in Batanovtsi and the nearby quarry.

Entrepreneurs presented their investment intentions to the governor of Pernik Ivan Dimitrov. The businessmen expressed interests in terrains in both Bulgaria and Romania.

At the moment, the company “Titan” owns the former cement factory near Batanovtsi. The quarry is national property.

“Several Bulgarian companies also have interest in the quarry. They’ve sent their offers to the regional ministry”, said Dimitrov. The interest to the quarry near Batanovtzi is not so big – the inert materials there are not suitable for permanent road surfaces.
