An order of the minister of environment and waters Jevdet Chakarov added Krumovitsa and Studen kladenets to the defended zones of the Natura 2000 network.

Endangered avian species and their habitats are the subject of protection in these zones. Both Krumovitsa and Studen kladenets are in the region of the city Kardzhali.

The zone of Krumovitsa spreads over 111 thousand decares, and the zone of Studen kladenets – over 159 thousand decares. The afforestation of the area and the cultivation of natural meadows is strictly forbidden. So will be the use of pesticides and cutting down forests near rivers.
