Hilton to open in Golden Sands resort
The international hotel chain Hilton Hotels Corporation will open branches at the Bulgarian Black Sea coast. Two new hotels will open in the Golden Sands resort, branded with the famous hotel name. Citing three different sources, the website capital.bg announced that the owner of the two complexes will be Georgi Velchev, brother of the ex-financial minister Milen Velchev.
The first hotel with the famous brand will open doors in the summer of 2009. It will be the already finished four-stars hotel “Helios Spa”. By the summer, the new owner is supposed to renovate it to the standards of the brand.
The second hotel will be built in the place of the old “Veliko Tarnovo” hotel, and is expected to open doors by 2010. Both hotels will be five stars and will be among the most expensive in the resort. Their owner will sign a franchise deal with Hilton Hotels. Both hotels will have a capacity of about 600 beds.
