The river Danube is slowly freezing, announced the Agency for research of Danube in Ruse.

In one or two days, ice is expected to freeze the Bulgarian section of the river, because of the continuous low temperatures during the last frew days, and the lower level of the river.

The ice will take up at least 30%, and if temperatures drop again, the navigation of the Danube will get more complicated”, said Agency representatives.

The level of the river near Ruse was 170 centimetres, showing a drop of nearly 20 centimetres.
