The Ministry of defence has the biggest budget for next year. This was made clear by the budget proposal that is still being discussed at the National assembly. The military has by far the largest intended subsidy. It is 1 167 382 000 leva.

The next largest subsidy of the national treasury goes to the Ministry of labour and social politics. For 2009, this ministry should receive 1 111 007 200 leva.

The proposal also notes, that the social ministry spent the most in 2008 – a total of 1 146 507 200 leva. The expenses for the military are right behind those of the social ministry, being 1 000 190 120 leva.
