Berbatov on the thrill of being in Manchester
Dimitar Berbatov admitted that he still feels nervous before each match of Manchester United, even nine months after his transfer from Tottenham.
The Bulgarian striker scored 14 goals in 43 matches for the “red devils” this season, but still doesn’t consider himself a fan favourite player.
“I was very nervous before the first matches, and the feeling hasn’t left me completely yet. When you’re playing for the biggest team in the world, that’s something normal. I sometime express my anger – shouting during the game, angry at my own mistakes. I also know the things I’ve accomplished so far and I know I still have much to give to the team. Sometimes I’m disappointed in myself, because I didn’t show everything I’m capable of”, said Berbatov.
“I know some people think I don’t care about what happens with the team, but in reality I’m taking it very personal. My only thought when I go home is how can I be better next time”, added Berbatov.
