Bansko has chances to host the third start of the women World cup
There is a significant chance of Bansko hosting yet another skiing World cup for women this year, announced the resort’s website bansko.net.
On December 21st 2008, the start in St. Moritz (Switzerland) was cancelled due to unsuitable weather. Now the Bulgarian resort is taken into consideration as a place to host the race.
The decision will be taken on January 20th by the international federation FIS. For now, Bansko will host two events – Super-G on February 28th and a slalom on March 1st. The possible start for women would take place on January 2nd. One of the main problems for this additional event in Bulgaria is the organizing of television coverage.
