The Council of ministers will provide 1 321 650 leva for the organization and co-ordination of the Bulgarian participation in the international expo in the largest Chinese city. The money have been provided by the central budget.

With a decision made in August 2006, the government chose the minister of economics and energetics as a national general commissar for the Bulgarian participation in the expo. It will be prepared, organized and co-ordinated by the “International fair” EAD, Plovdiv.

The participation in Expo 2010 gives opportunities to attract foreign investments, to advertise Bulgaria as a good tourism destination, to present the Bulgarian scientific achievements and their appliance in the urban planning, to strengthen the trading and economic bonds between Bulgaria and China, and to develop the partnership between the various businesses.
