“Viktor’s idea” gathered eleventh graders in an eco-duel

Can the effort to separate your garbage in school save the life of at least one tree – that was the topic of debate between eleventh graders from the European languages high school in Ruse, writes the website ruseinfo.net.

“Viktor’s idea” (that was the name of the discussion) involves placing two separate garbage bins in the classrooms of the school – so that paper can be separated from plastic and other garbage.

The author of the idea, Viktor Dakov, was encouraged by his biology teacher Miglena Iakova to develop his vision for an ecology lesson, and his practical proposal had both followers and opponents.

Yesterday, the foyer on the fourth floor of the school was filled with students that followed carefully the discussion between the approving and the disproving teams. The governing body of the school and representatives from a garbage recycling company were the jury of the discussion. In the end, the ecological initiative was approved and soon the second garbage bins will enter the classrooms.
