Veliko Tarnovo welcomed over 22 000 tourists during the holidays

Over 22 thousand tourists visited Veliko Tarnovo during the holidays. This was announced by the director of the Regional history museum of the city, mr. Ivan Tsarov. According to him, that’s a record setting number.

1/5 of the visitors were foreigners, with 80% of them being Romanian. The day with the most tourists was May 3rd – 5 350 people visited Veliko Tarnovo.

The most visited historical site was, once again, the fortress Tsarevets. The church “The Birth of Christ” in the village Arbanasi was a close second, added Ivan Tsarov. He also revealed that tourists were equally interested in the Archaeological museum in Veliko Tarnovo and the museum “Bulgarian revival”, visited by about 500 tourists each.
