Turkey and Bulgaria – co-operating well

“The co-operation in the field of energetics should be considered a priority in the relations between the two countries”, said the Bulgarian president Georgi Parvanov on a press conference in Ankara, after meeting the president of Turkey Abdullah GГјl. The president is on an official, two-day visit in Turkey.

During the press conference, the two presidents gave a positive assessment of the relations development between Turkey and Bulgaria. “Turkey and Bulgaria co-operate very well. They keep good relations as neighbours in the region and are allies in NATO, and they partner very well on EU issues”, said the Turkish president Abdullah GГјl.

According to the Bulgarian president Georgi Parvanov, the last ten years saw a very active and dynamical political dialogue between Bulgaria and Turkey, perhaps the most active period since diplomatic relations were established.
