The Bulgarian national radio announced that the Winter fest 2009 begins in Bansko on February 25th. The cultural events are tied to the skiing World cup which takes place in Bansko on February 27th, 28th and March 1st.

The official opening of the World cup will take place on February 26th.

The municipality of Bansko will organize cultural events on each evening between February 25th and March 1st. Parties with performers like Rumanetsa and Enchev, Dicho, Deo, Preslava, Nevena, Denitsa and Toma from Music Idol will also be organized.

The latest snow cover is a little problematic, but Bansko hopes to deal with the situation in time and provide good conditions for the competition, says the mayor of the city Alexander Kravarov.
