The village Mogilitsa nominated for Unique European village

The village Mogilitsa in the Rodopi mountains was nominated for a Unique European village, revealed the mayor of the village Mitko Chochev. According to him, the village is unique with it’s ancient traditions that are kept to this day, the beautiful nature and the clean air.

This is the third village in the region of Smolian that is recognized in such manner; the other two are Smilian and Shiroka luka. “We will receive a Golden seal, valid to all institutions”, announced Chochev.

The region of the village features over 20 caves, the most popular being Uhlovitsa. The mayor of the village also talked for the holiday of the village. It will be held on February 2nd. There will be competitions for a best costume of the day.
