The University of Sofia officially opened its anniversary 120th academic year. At 10:45a.m. this morning wreaths were presented in front of the two statues of the brothers Evlogi Georgiev and Hristo Georgiev and the festive ceremony began at 11:00a.m in the Aula (the biggest hall) of the University, which has been repaired and renewed during the last months.

The Rector Professor Ivan Ilchev and the Education and Science Minister Daniel Valchev held speeches, emphasizing the significance of the first Bulgarian university for the education in Bulgaria. Professor Ilchev presented the member of parliament rectors and the deans of University of Sofia. After that the schedule of the opening of the faculties of the university was read.
