The streets of Sunny Beach – to be sold

“All streets, sidewalks, alleys and water pipes in Slanchev briag (Sunny Beach) will be sold by the end of the year”, announced the executive director of “Sunny Beach” AD Malina Stratieva. The infrastructural package’s price in 56 million leva, informs the newspaper Monitor.

The stockholders of the resort are actively negotiating with the Nesebar municipality. The municipality however, has not yet approved the deal. The proposal for the sale of streets and sidewalks will be decided on the next municipality administration session.

The negotiations with the Nesebar municipality have been going on for over a year and a half, but to this day an agreement on the price hasn’t been reached. If the government does not agree to pay 56 million, the resort’s infrastructure will be sold to private owners.

The precedent for this financial move has been set by the Zlatni piasatsi (Golden Sands) resort. The owner of the infrastructure and six hotels in the resort is “Golden Sands” AD. It was bought by RMD “Zlatni” in a consortium with the German giant “Kondor and Nekerman turistik” and “Agrima” AD.
