The “shadow” of the financial crisis built in the Mall Pleven

The mayor of Pleven Naiden Zelenogorski and the investor of Mall Pleven Aladin Harfan ensured that a capsule with messages for the future generations and a credit card were built in the slabstone of the parking level – 2 of the Mall Pleven.

The idea of the investor to build in a credit card in the slabstone comes from it’s purpose as a purchase tool nowadays. The credit card comes from the Raiffeisen bank – the bank that invested in the project. According to the authors of the idea, when the credit card is found after many years, it will be a useless novelty, but will serve as a link to the finance in the past. The messages for future generations are also inserted into a flash USB drive, again a reminder for the technologies of the day.

As he inserted the capsule in the concrete, the investor of Mall Pleven – Aladin Harfan said: “I know from Bulgarian folklore that our ancestors built in the shadows of a person inside a building, which lead to this person’s demise. Thus, I want to build in the foundations of Mall Pleven the shadow of the financial crisis, so that it could come to an end.”
