The resort tax for Pamporovo stays 1 lev

The resort tax in the Smolyan municipality remains the same in 2009, announced radio “Focus”.

The tax per tourist in Pamporovo and the compound resorts is one lev, and in Smolyan and the villages in the municipality, tourists will pay 0,50 leva.

The resort tax is collected from each tourist that registers in a hotel. The hotel management is obliged to transfer the tax to the municipality treasury.

The mayor of Smolyan Dora Iankova explained, that the money from resort taxes are used to advertise the municipality as a tourism destination, and the participation of the region in national and international expos is also paid with them. Part of the profits from this tax are also used to construct new tourism projects.
