Submitted on Sunday, 9 November 2008No Comment

The only ostrich farm in the municipality of Smolyan resides in the village Chokmanovo, and develops successfully as a tourist attraction. Those were the words of Dimitar Chatalbashev, owner of the farm, in Smolyan. According to his words, about 20 people per day visit the farm, and during the weekends their numbers grow significantly up to 50 people.

“The ostrich farm is frequented mostly by bulgarians, and much more rarely by foreigners”, explained Dimitar Chatalbashev, informs media agency Focus.

“We intend to develop the tourism aspects of the place. We will make a barbecue, places to sit back and relax, a paintball field, and maybe even places to stay”, said Chatalbashev and added, that this farm can grow into a successful tourism product.

According to his words, people want to see the simpler things in life rather than a pompous five-star hotel.
