The municipality of Plovdiv lowers expenses to nearly 20%

The budget for next year of the municipality of Plovdiv will be corrected with 4,8 million leva, reducing the expenses in all departments. This was announced by the vice-mayor Alexander Konstantinov.

The biggest percentage of funds will be taken from the capital expenses of the municipality, clarified Konstantinov. The cut of funds will encompass all other departments as well, however. The corrections will be voted on by the Municipality council during the first session after the summer break of the counsellors.

This will not be the only shrinking of the budget – we expect another correction until the end of the year, said Konstantinov.

The suggested antictisis program includes a reduction of 5% – 20% of all expenses of the municipality, starting with office cars of average and low class, telephone conversations and seminars.

The income of the municipality, especially from taxation, will be followed on a daily basis. The expected shortage of income in the budget of the municipality of Plovdiv until the end of the year is expected to reach 10 million leva, clarified he.

Today, the economics team of the municipality of Plovdiv announced publicly the planned changes of the budget for next year.
