The first Bulgarian Barista Academy starts

In mid-February 2009, the first Barista Academy in Bulgaria will open. The project belongs to NESTLE Professional, a specialized department of NESTLE that strives to provide business solutions – food and drinks outside the house.

The research of World of coffee shows, that nearly 30% of all coffee drinks are consumed outside the home – in cafeterias, stalls, and the office. The data of Euromonitor shows, that over 20 000 cafeterias function in Bulgaria, and their profits on an yearly basis goes over 437 million leva, and 98% of the consumation of drinks is realized “on the spot”, at the cafeteria.

The manager of NESTLE Professional in Bulgaria Petar Stoilov says, that with the start and advertising of the Bulgarian Barista Academy, NESTLE Professional aims to create a professional education centre, and to provide the future professional baristas optimal knowledge and experience in the production of special, gourmet drinks.
