The EC starts the second stage of the anti-smoking campaign

On the World smoking-free day, the European Commission will begin the second stage of their campaign “HELP – life without tobacco”.

On May 31st, three new clips will be aired on a hundred TV channels all across Europe – including Bulgaria – for a whole month. They will be repeated in September, announced the press center of the European Commission.

The clips feature young people and use humour to covey three serious messages: don’t start smoking, how to give up on cigarettes and the dangers of passive smoking.

The Commission considers visuals stronger than words, especially on the control of smoking. As a result, in 2005 the EC created a library of 42 images that accompany the warning signs on cigarette boxes.
