The European bank for research and development (EBRD) will invest 250 million euro in Bulgaria in 2009, which is 25% more than their investments last year.

This was stated by the president of the bank Tomas Mirov during the signing of the memorandum for co-operation with the Bulgarian government in the field of persistent energetics.

The financial minister Plamen Oresharski signed for the Bulgarian side.

According to Mirov, who is in Bulgaria for the first time after he became the CEO of the bank in the summer of 2008, nearly half of the investment sum for Bulgaria will be given to the banking sector, ensuring more business credits.
