The current demographic picture of the bulgarian capital will be presented today for discussion at the headquarters of the Capital’s municipality. A discussion about “The future of the elderly” will then opened.

The conference will have the demographic development and financing the health services in Vienna, Sofia, Belgrad, Bratislava, Budapest, Bukurest, Zagreb, Lublyana and Prague as it’s topics.

The aim of the conference is to share experience on an european level, to present projects and seek resolutions of the new challenges in the cares for the elderly.

Sofia will be presented with it’s current picture of the demographic development of the city and the perspectives for the future, and information on the bases and resources for social services for the elderly, organizing and financing the pension system, the role of the municipality in the creation of laws and influencing the government’s decisions.
