The contract for South stream – signed

The chief executive of the Bulgarian energy holding Galina Tosheva and the chairman of the Executive council of the Russian gas company Gazprom Alexey Miler signed the Treaty of coopearation today, May 15th 2009, in the Russian city Sochi. The treaty was prepared during the visit of the official Bulgarian delegation in Moscow, lead by the prime minister Sergei Stanishev, on April 28th 2009.

The treaty for cooperation includes the principles for assistance between the two countries regarding the pre-investment research on the judicial, financial, technological, ecologican and economical aspects of the project for the South stream pipeline.

Each country has the right to take individual and final investment decisions regarding the project, based on the pre-investment research, to preserve their respective national interests.
