The chess games between Topalov – Kamsky live on the Internet

The chess games between the contenders for the World cup chess title – Veselin Topalov and Gata Kamsky – will be shown live on the Internet.

For the first time, the official website of the competition – www.wccc2009.com – will show live footage from hall 6 of the National palace of culture beside the usual following of the moves onscreen.

By February 28th, the two chess masters will have played 8 chess games. The series will determine who will face Viswanathan Anand (India) for the grand chess mastery crown.

The website has already started. Fans of the ancient game can find information on both chess masters, their achievements, the full status for the eight games between Topalov and Kamsky so far.

The press conferences after each chess game will be aired live and will be kept online. This was explained by Ventsislav Inkiov, leader of the technical team. According to him, over 1,5 million people will watch the games on the Internet.

Beside the National agency for youth and sport, four companies and one bank supported the games financially. They are MTel, the Corporate trading bank, the nuclear power plant Kozloduy, Dundy precious metals and Bulgartabak.
