Switzerland approved the free transfer of labourers from Bulgaria and Romania

Switzerland’s majority approved the continuation for the agreement for free transfer of labourers between the confederation and the European union along with it’s newest additions – Bulgaria and Romania. The data comes from the agency ATS which calculates the results of the national referendum.

59,6% of the voters in Switzerland voted “yes” for the broadened economical collaboration in the European Union.

Only four cantons voted against the agreement that allowed over 200 000 Europeans to work in Switzerland after 2002.

According to the agreement, citizens of Switzerland also have the rights to live and work in the countries of the EU.
