Shareholder in “Super Borovets” wants concession for a highway

The national road agency announced that yesterday a project for the construction of the project “Remote southern road encircling Sofia”, with destinations Dupnitza – Samokov – Bogoroditsa – Sofia. The idea for a “Rila” highway that will connect the capital Sofia with the resort Borovets was first proposed back in 2007, during the turning of the first sod of “Super Borovets”. The project for the new giant ski resort belongs to the shareholding union between “Glavbolgarstroi”, the investment fund “Equest”, the national reserve fund of the Sultan of Oman and the municipality of Samokov.

At the start of “Super Borovets”, investors announced their intentions to build a highway in the presence of the prime minister Sergey Stanishev and his predecessor, Simeon Sax Coburg Gotha.

The announcement of the national road agency makes it clear that “Glavbolgarstroi holding” has already made pre-project researches and proposed the opening of the procedure for the concessed construction of the highway on March 10th. According to the law, the responsible institution NAPI should give their answer in three months, roughly on the eve of elections.
