Petko Sertov becomes consul general of Bulgaria in Solun

The former chief of the Agency for National Security (DANS) Petko Sertov will be sent to Solun to be the consul general of Bulgaria there, announced the spokesman of the Ministry of foreign relations Dragovest Goranov. Lachezar Ivanov was the temporary consul general until recently. His contract expired and his place has been vacant for 40 days.

“It was his wish and choice to work for Bulgaria in this department,” said Dragovest Goranov.

The formal issues and the date when Petko Sertov will take his place as a consul are yet to be determined.

The prime minister approved the resignation of Sertov from his post as a chief of DANS yesterday.

After a meeting between the prime minister Boiko Borisov and the former chief of DANS Petko Sertov, the prime minister decided to comply with his resignation. Borisov co-ordinated his decision with the president Georgi Parvanov.
