Parvanov named an island in Vietnam to Orpheus

From this day on, one of the three thousand islands in the Ha Long gulf bears the name Orpheus. The president Georgi Parvanov, who is on an official visit in the Asian country, gave the name to the island during a boat trip in the gulf.

The gulf is visited by nearly three million tourists per year.

In Vietnamese, Ha Long means “Descending dragon”.
