Parvanov congratulated Burgas natives for the day of Burgas

The municipality of Burgas received a greeting from the President of Bulgaria Georgi Parvanov for the holiday of the city – Nikulden.

The greeting states: “It is my pleasure to greet you on the occasion of the day of Burgas – December 6th, and the day of your patron saint – Nikolay Chudotvorets. This is one of the greatest Christian holidays.”

Parvanov also noted, that as a crossroad of ancient civilizations, Burgas has a rich past and traditions dating a long way back in time. “Developing it’s ancient heritage, modern Burgas is a center of rich spiritual life. The popular summer festivities and concerts, the international cinema and theatre festivals, exhibitions and forums bring glory to your city”, added the President.

“Today Burgas is an important industrial, transport, agricultural, educational, tourist and medical center with enormous potential and the prequisites for an even better future,” concluded he.
