Parvanov awards Nelson Mandela with the order “Stara planina”

The Bulgarian ambassador in South Africa Volodya Neikov presented the chief executive of the foundation “Nelson Mandela” Ahmat Dangor with the highest Bulgarian order “Stara planina – first rank”.

The Bulgarian president Georgi Parvanov sent the highest national order to the first democratic president of the Republic of South Africa and the bearer of the Nobel prize for peace Nelson Mandela.

The order was sent as a gift for his 90th anniversary and as recognition for his notable work towards defending human rights and freedoms.
